Winter in Canberra

Happy Labor Day!  We looked through some pictures from the last few months and picked some to share.

Chris feeds the birds at a local aviary.
One bird likes the food. Two birds like Carol’s hair. Two golden pheasants lurk in the background.
They are nesting in Carrie’s hair!
This is the best (only) ice we could get.
Lots of sulphur-crested cockatoos! Squawk!!!!
This is a cockatoo visiting our house.
Look at the plumage!
Gas grills don’t make for the best roasted marshmallows!
The neighbor kids you keep hearing about – Courtney, Chris, Jorja, Carrie and Hayden.
Spring has arrived on the left. Winter still has hold on the right.
Our lake house.
Happy Father’s Day (Sep. 4 down here)!
This black swan is nesting directly across the lake from us. Two cygnets have hatched. Hopefully there will be three more.
We can’t keep Carrie off the pole!
This little island is on the way to the bird’s nest.
