Today was a recovery day spent in and around the villa.
The kids found an aptly named European rhinoceros beetle by the pool.We visited the local grocery store again today and noticed they carried a few familiar books. Pictured here is Rachel Renée Russell’s “Dork Diaries.” Apparently “dork” doesn’t translate well into Italian as it is simply titled “The Nikki Diaries,” after the main character.We also found Jeff Kinney’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” which does translate literally.In the evening, Tom prepared a bed of oak coals in the villa’s outdoor kitchen to roast our chicken dinner. A tasty ending to our relaxing day.
