Manatee

A group of manatees have been enjoying the warm canal waters near Chris’s school lately.  The whole family took a trip out to see them on Saturday.  Here are a few pics.

A manatee takes a quick breath before returning to the business of eating plants and roots off the canal bottom.
At least ten manatee are visible in this pic. We saw up to two dozen at one time in this group.
While Carrie stares at the group in the previous picture, this manatee slips past her from under the bridge. Most of the manatees we saw were about six to eight feet long. The largest was closer to ten feet.
How about a kiss?

A mullet jumps out of the water near the manatees.
