Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve

The Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve is a few kilometers from our house and has some easy walking trails.  The following pictures were taken on October 17, 2009.

Dave and the kids with a view of Canberra in the background.
Carol and the kids at the same spot.
A Crimson Rosella.
Two kangaroos (one crouched to the right of the obvious one) near the ridge.
Two nearby kangaroos watching us.
This kangaroo had a joey tail sticking out of its pouch. And two Crimson Rosellas in the foreground.
Alert kangaroo (there is also one hidden to the immediate left of the tree trunk).
This mob is starting to move on.
One curious one stares at us while the rest turn and hop off.
This was one of the big guys.
Nothing but air.
They really cover a lot of ground quickly when they want to.
A mom and her joey.
Close up of mom and joey. That is the joey’s leg sticking out above its head.
Chris and Carrie climbing a big hill toward some small kangaroos.
Chris and Carrie leave a “blessing” (food) of grass for the kangaroos.
Close up of the small kangaroos.
View toward our neighborhood from the top of the hill (the red and pink dots are Carol and Carrie).
Carol and Carrie make their way up the hill.
